These include mainly PSCAD, E-TRAN (and related E-TRAN parallel processing and hybrid simulation tools), E-Screen, PSS/E, PSLF, DigSilent PowerFactory, Matlab/Simulink and a number of internal tools.

Specialized in Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) Simulation

Electranix specializes in PSCAD simulations and studies. With our deep understanding of EMT physics and power systems simulation we take on challenging projects at the forefront of the EMT space. With many years of learning through our simulation work, we now have a mature tech stack of automation software. We make full use of our commercially available software E-TRAN along with internal automation programs to efficiently work through modelling and data analysis required for large system studies.

Model Verification

We are able to assist in simulation model development and testing efforts to ensure that IBR models comply to a specific standard set. Our EMT model verification checklist has been continuously updated and maintained since 2013, and is the foundation and key reference for many ISO and utility EMT model intake procedures.

Interconnection Studies

With our deep knowledge of PSCAD, power systems, loadflow tools, we have the capability to accurately and efficiently perform interconnection studies of complex systems involving data centre loads, power electronics, distributed generation and transmission. Electranix has been involved in cutting edge simulation work in the IBR study space.

Other Simulation Tools

Electranix has years of experience working with simulation software to do power electronic control modelling and for various studies outside of EMT space. This includes Matlab/Simulink as well as DigSilent Powerfactory to provide accurate harmonic load flow analysis.
