E-Tran 7.0 Release Notes:
- Improved compatibility with PSCAD 5 substitution libraries and translation
- Updated method for calculating network equivalent
- Ideal branches at the boundary will have the correct topology allowing for accurate substitution of ideal branches.
- Added a new Electranix Initial Conditions (Pink Box) component which is populated with more branch information than the original component
- Added high precision option – at translation time the raw file will be loaded in PSSE, re-solved to get higher precision data, and then translated. This requires a PSSE license to run
- Add support for multiple DYR files
- Added support for .loc files exported from PSSE to influence placement of busses of a portion of the kept network – this is recommended to only be used for a smaller selection of busses and not the entire kept network
- A python file is generated along with the PSCAD case which can be used in PSSE to reduce the case down to the same network as the kept PSCAD network (using the same network equivalent data calculated for the PSCAD case)
- VSCDC and FACTS devices are now read and a temporary component is added – must be replaced by a custom substitution component or disabled in the original case
- Ideal branch thresholds are now read from the PSSE data where available
- Updated DYR models: GGOV1, SHAF25, ST5B
- Added DYR models: BBGOV1, BUDCZT, CELIN, DC1C, DC2C, ESURRY, GENQEC, HYGOVD, IEEEG1D, IVOGO, PSS3B, ST1C, ST4C, ST5C, ST7C, ST8C, TGOV1D, TGOV5, WSHYGP
- All exciters updated to allow for external VOEL and VUEL values
- Added warning display and messages for the following models which NERC has labelled as Unacceptable: COMPCC, EX2000, GAST, GAST2A, GASTWD, IEEEG2, GENCLS, GENSAL, GENTRA, SEXS, WESGOV
- Improved transformer admittance calculations with certain connection codes
- 2 winding transformer delta winding configuration will use the vector group record for placement where possible
- Improved ideal loop detection
- 3 winding transformers now support phase transpose in addition to delta (phase angle of +/- 0, 30, 90, 120, 150)
- Fixed impedance correction table parsing with PSSE 35 cases
- Improved substitution of Fault Automation pages with parallel branches
- Switch shunts no longer fixed at initial P,Q values
- Transformers now maintain their original MVA values where possible so PSCAD parameters match PSSE parameters (display change only)
- Version check is automatically added to translated cases to ensure compatibility between pslx and lib files
- Cases translated for PSCAD 5 now have a bookmarks page with links to substituted components
- Improved parsing of incomplete DYR records
- Improved Solar PV page substituting
- Fixed multiple DC Link substituting
- DYR paths correctly written in relative path mode when using multiple DYR files (v7.0.1)
- Fault Automation page graphs keep their correct IDs at runtime (v7.0.1)
- VSCDC lines at the equivalent boundary now correctly translated (v7.0.2)
- 3-winding transformers now support shunts on each winding and translate in shunt data from PSSE data records (v7.0.2)
- 3-winding transformers with impedance connection code 1 are now correctly written on a system MVA base (v7.0.2)
- Added required PSCAD storage for Electranix_switch component (v7.0.2)
- Added notification when new versions released (v7.0.2)
- Fixed issue with bus list entry issues in some dialogs (Solar PV, Load Substitution, etc) (v7.0.2)
- STATCOMs now correctly disabled when bus is disabled (v7.0.2)
- Improved Solar PV substitution model (v7.0.2)
- General bug fixes and improvements
E-Tran Plus updates in E-Tran 7.0:
- E-Tran Plus components in E-Tran 7 are not compatible with previous versions. Cases must be updated to use components from the new E-Tran pslx and lib files and the license manager must be updated to at least E-Tran License Manager v1.4.2
- Updated communication between components for more accurate simulations when using different timesteps in parallel cases
- Added support for Direct Memory Mapping communication and TCP/IP communication with labels instead of port numbers
- Added PSSE Co-Simulation support for PSSE 35
- Co-Simulation scripts now work with Python 2 and Python 3
- Port mapping component no longer needed for E-Tran Plus cases
- New Electranix Initial Conditions components can be set to export information from one case and import in a connected case
- Added new PSSE to PSCAD signal passing with 3 winding transformer support
- Added more translation options in E-Tran Plus tab
- Open in PSCAD now opens all the parallel cases in PSCAD
- Added advanced set name support for port label and DMM runs
- In the same folder as each .pscx file place a file named ETranSetName.txt containing a matching short identifier (letters and numbers only, no spaces) and all of the labels will have that identifier prepended to the label name automatically
- E-Tran Plus Bergeron lines now can do zero sequence estimation and long line correction (matching the master library Bergeron lines)
- E-Tran Plus Bergeron lines may be set to automatically lengthen to ensure a minimum single timestep travel time between cases
- Updated MINS handling for Co-Simulation DYR records
- Fixed potential node overlap in E-Tran Plus transformers with certain parameter options
- Finish time of E-Tran Plus for PSCAD remote cases is now modified by the AutoLaunch component to ensure the same length of run
- Improved automatic splitting options and case generation (v7.0.1)
- Shunts on automatically split Bergeron lines added where appropriate (v7.0.1)
